Hi, I'm Riki, and I believe that everyone can learn to move better.
I started practicing Pilates because I was desperate to relieve my chronic back pain. At that time, I didn't really understand how the exercises were helping me, but I knew I felt better after the very first lesson, and I was hooked!
After two years of private lessons, I began a teacher training program, started teaching group classes and private lessons, and eventually opened my own studio.
One thing that sets me apart as an instructor is that I like to translate what you do in Pilates to what you're doing in your everyday life. I want you to understand why you're doing what you're doing, and how it's going to help you reach your goals. I believe that everyone has a movement potential that's a far, far horizon, and as your instructor, it's my job to help get you there.
Interested in the nitty-gritty? Here it is...
I currently train with master instructor Chris Robinson, the leading expert on Pilates & Sports. Prior to the pandemic, I completed the 450-hour Intermediate Training Program from The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO, as well as the TheraPilates for Osteoporosis Course with Sherri Betz, an internationally recognized expert on building better bones through exercise. I've taught mat and equipment classes at InsideOut Body Therapies in Durham, NC, group mat classes at Bull City Running, The Movement Studio, the Durham YMCA, and bespoke classes for private corporate clients.
In addition, I've been honored to be featured as a guest instructor for Balanced Body's short video program BB Breaks and the Be Well-Stay Well online network; to lead Pilates clinics for Bull City Running and Chapel Hill Training; and to be featured in Voyage Raleigh and Canvas Rebel as an inspiring entrepreneur.
I'm currently expanding my studio hours, and I'd love to meet you. Click the button below to get started!
