Private Pilates coaching in Durham, NC for runners, lifters, and active adults who want to move better. You've trained for years. You know your body. But something's off — a hip that doesn't track right, a shoulder that won't release, the lift that used to feel solid and now doesn't. This is the work that addresses it.

The System in Practice
Justin came to me as a recent D1 grad, training for UFL tryouts and ultimately signing with AF1. His ask was direct: "I just want to play football without hip pain."
The hips were the obvious place to start. But the bigger shift came when we moved down the chain to his feet and ankles. His arches were collapsing. His shoes needed updating. He needed weekly mobility work for his shins and calves. The hip pain was a symptom of a system that needed addressing.
Over seven months of weekly sessions, we built whole-body workouts that complemented his strength and conditioning rather than fighting it. We focused on body awareness, breath, core control, and active recovery — all things that serve him on the field.
Private coaching is what makes this kind of work possible. One-on-one sessions surface what's actually driving the issue. And a weekly practice sustained over months, not weeks, is what changes how you move.
What Private Coaching Looks Like
You'll complete a brief intake form ahead of our first session, including training history, what's bringing you in, and goals. Every session begins with a check-in. We choose where to start based on what you need that day.
Most 50-minute sessions happen on the Reformer, but we'll tap into the whole Pilates method, using different apparatus based on your needs, including the Cadillac, Chairs, or Barrels. Changing your orientation to gravity and the position of the spring (load) with a focus on trunk control and breathing is what Pilates is all about, and it's one of the most powerful ways to own any movement pattern. I make sure that what we practice in the studio translates to what you're doing every day in real life.
After every session, I take notes, and then the work shifts as you grow. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling invigorated and ready for the next thing.
Most clients once or twice a week, and both cadences produce marked results.
